Skid loader training was a success!!!

Skid loader training was held on Nov. 14th at Calco Fence in Livermore, There were 15 individuals from several fence companies that attended, studied, were tested in the classroom and in the field with the equipment and all passed and are now certified to operate a skid steer piece of equipment.

Mike Hill Reports
If any of these workers get injured on your skid steer equipment in the field and OSHA gets involved, you will be covered as long as your equipment is found to be safe and it was operator error. You have trained these individuals to meet with the OSHA requirements.  If you have an employee operating your skid steer who did note attend this training and there is an accident and OSHA gets involved and come to your office to verify your training requirements and find that this employee was not trained then the minimum fine will be $7,000.00!! I don’t know about you but that makes these training seminars very important to our company and our employees.

Overton can do this for your whole company or they can come and train a trainer so your trainer can then train your whole company.  A small price to pay to be in compliance and to create good employees!

Last, for the 15 individuals that came here, I was truly impressed with them. They were prompt, courteous, attentive, and had great attitudes about the training.  To the companies who sent them, you were represented very well, you should be proud

Marin Fence, C & R Fence, Bailey Fence, Calco Fence, Crusader Fence, Thompson & Thompson Fence, and Clark-Cadman, Inc.

More classes will be offered in the future. The training committee has set up a budget to help offset the cost of this training to the member of the CFCA. More information will be given out at future meetings.

If you have any suggestions please contact Mike Hill - Calco Fence or Louie Osterude - Empire Fence.
